Alcohol Ink Cards
Hello Friends! Last year I made a dozen or so cards from my own watercolors . Tiny watercolors of botanicals and birds. Very sweet. I decided to make little abstract alcohol inks (which are not as easily fabulous as larger formats) to put onto cards. They are fun and cute and I will enjoy putting them in their cellophane wraps and treating them as if they are actual gifts. Something I'd never have done a year ago. I devalued things I made as something less. Time to start putting that to rest.
I made these with the homemade inks including the ones made with mica powder. I bought blank cards and envelopes. I had to trim the cards. Once I got the alcohol ink paper on it, it wouldn't fit. Grrr. I sealed each ink paper with Krylon Crystal Clear Spray. I will put them in a see thru sleeve that seals and give them to friends. I made about 50 cards. Like I said... fun.
Oh yeah, some cards have sharpie marker and gelli pen on them. The gelli pen didn't really like the alcohol ink. The sharpie is awesome on alcohol ink. It doesn't budge.
If you have made some alcohol ink cards, send them to my gmail associated with this blog: thecreativessutah@gmail.com or to my regular email if you know it. I will post them!
